Ole Barry should have studied Lincoln better….

obama-lincolnMaybe this is one quote that Obama should have learned before he attempted to align himself with our sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln…….

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

  2. No, sorry, you should have studied Lincoln better yourself.

Whatever the merits of the 10 Cannots, they weren’t written by Abe. The author was a Presbyterian minister and motivational speaker, William J.H. Boetcker, and he wrote them more than 50 years after Lincoln was killed. The full story is here:

    Thanks for correcting this error.

    • thank you for pointing that out and I stand corrected. I actually received that in a email and I felt it was relevant to the times of today! The title was merely a play on words, apparently it hit a sore spot with you! I am a Kentuckian, the same state in which Lincoln was born, his legacy lives on here….Relax this is a blog, not a biography!
