Thanksgiving 2010

In today’s world we have so much impacting our lives that often it’s difficult to stop and focus on the things we are most grateful for. George Washington, our first President said in his proclamation:

It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor.

This remains true today, possibly more so than in the beginning of this great nation. So as you enjoy your families and the food that adorns the tables of many, be thinking of those who are not as fortunate or those who are in foreign lands fighting for the freedoms we have today.
Remember to give “thanks” and be sure to listen for ………..

  1. Beautiful. I’m blessed by your talents and thoughts, Erica. May you have a special day of thanksgiving, love, and friendship.
Maybe it’s just me but it seems that a lot of people truly want to find reasons to be thankful and reasons to enter the holidays this year with renewed hope, cheer, and faith.
My grandmother would tell me about the holidays during the World Wars and the Depresssion. Although they had to do with a lot less and there were hardships abound, she reflected on the fact that they had each other, how hard times pulled friends and neighbors together.
I like to think that this same spirit is one silver lining in the otherwise harsh world we live in today.
    O. Henry shared this sentiment in his story, “The Gift of the Magi” as did Dickens, of course, through Tiny Tim’s “God bless us everyone.”
These are difficult times for many, no doubt, and I pray that into their hearts a little more light will shine, that they find reasons to be thankful in some way no matter how small that may be.

  2. I just saw a commercial w/ lots of celebrities saying “give thanks”. … But they never say to whom. Wonder why that is? Happy Thanksgiving Erica! I truly adore our friendship. And that, I’m thankful for! 🙂

  3. I am thankful that You and T are my friends.
