The Passing of the Gavel

Today Mr. Speaker you officially take the gavel away from Nancy Pelosi; who recklessly used it to to attempt to undermine and obscure the will of the people. I appreciate that as you undertake one of the most powerful jobs in the nation that you want to make it less about yourself and the power you may hold but more about the people in which you actually represent. That would be us, We the People… you say that you will be offering the minority party a chance to be heard, Mr. Speaker..we have heard from them and they have supported every progressive measure to lead us into a more socialist type government.
Naftali Bendavid and Patrick O’Connor report in the Wall Street Journal that one of your first votes will be:

Lawmakers will be required to vote on whether or not to raise the federal debt ceiling, a move sought by tea-party representatives. Current rules let the House automatically raise the limit when they pass a budget.

We can’t afford to have the federal debt raised any higher if you want us to get our fiscal responsibilities in order. Among the changes of rules that you wish to implement is:

All legislation must be posted online 72 hours before going to the House floor to prevent party leaders from changing bills the night before House votes, as has been the practice over the years.

We have heard this before if you remember when Obama was preaching from his deluded pulpit and hailed “transparency” was coming to DC. We the people, are demanding that we have the time to read and to voice our concerns regarding impending bills and we respectfully but firmly request that the bills be limited to the length; no longer is it necessary to have thousands of pages of political rhetoric to get a bill passed.
So Mr. Speaker has you hold the gavel in your hands remember it is the people of America that is looking to you for leadership; one who won’t buckle to those who claim to be with you in name only. The American people know who the RINO’s [republicans in name only] are and we will be most likely watching you more closely, placing you under our microscopic eye to see that you hold true to your promise to restore honor to America and to repeal the usurpation of this administration.

Whoa!!! Lets pull back on those reins and pay special attention to a message from those who sent you there. Granted on November 2, 2010 we sent a resounding message to Washington that We The People has enabled you to be our voice and represent us in DC. Remember your pledge to America?

The need for urgent action to repair our economy and reclaim our government for the people cannot be overstated

We plan to hold you accountable for those words and promise to ever be so vigilante to make sure you are true to the promise. Don’t even consider to placate the American public by forgetting what you’ve pledge to do.

With this document, we pledge to dedicate ourselves to the task of reconnecting our highest aspirations to the permanent truths of our founding by keeping faith with the values our nation was founded on, the principles we stand for, and the priorities of our people. This is our Pledge to America

So John Boehner on January 5, 2011 you and many of your colleagues will be standing before God and America taking a vow as you raise your right hand and swear:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.

So it would behoove you to bear in mind that the sleeping giant has awakened and we are no longer going to sit idly by and let our country continue down the slippery slope as set forth by the current administration. This is a new year, a time to focus on the issues we face today, rising unemployment, spending out of control, unsecured borders and a President hell bent and determined to usurp every part of the documents that built this great nation. The “proverbial” ball is now in your court, it is up to you to hold true to your promise and help restore America’s honor and prestige in the world…

A Voter’s Message To The GOP

[photo courtesy of facebook friend] History was made on November 2, 2010 when the GOP regained control once again of the House of Representatives. While “We The People” played an integral part in this take over, it would behoove the GOP to take note that we are not giving them a pass to only go to Washington and conduct business as usual. It is a time for accountability and to ensure the American voter that you will be our voice, our “representation” in our attempt to save our nation and bring back trust, faith in a government that has ran amok over stepping its boundaries with it’s rampant disregard for our constitution. Rep. John Boehner of Ohio, said, “Its clear tonight who the winners are and its the American people.” Yes, this isn’t a time to celebrate but indeed a time to buckle down and have our voices heard and remember…We the American voter have entrusted you to defend and protect …… We are watching, taking notes….

An Attack From Within: March 21, 2010

In many ways March 21, 2010 can be a day that could be compared with September 11, 2001. How you might ask? On September 11th, we were attacked by an outside force but on March 21st, we were attacked within, by our very own government. A government that refused to listen to the will of the people. They single handily passed a reform that the “majority of the people” did not want, with no regard to the ramifications that could have a lasting effect not only for us in the here and now but for generations to come. It was appalling to hear Speaker Nancy Pelosi make this claim! We need to pass a bill that hasn’t been read? The deals that were made behind closed doors in secret do nothing to promote bi-partisanship in our current form of government. It is an insult to the American people to even suggest that they have our best interest at heart. They have an agenda, and that is to change the very foundation of our country. Al Sharpton words may very well come back to haunt him but in reality they now feel a sense of being the “all-powerful” and claims such as these should not go unnoticed. Ohio should be proud of their conservative son, Congressman John Boehner delivered a powerful passionate message to this administration, one that will live no doubt into infamy………………………………………….

The time is now, to remind this speaker that its time to remember the dignity of the American people ……Stand Strong, Stand together, United we stand, Divided we fall…..
